7 WAYS TO MANAGE STRESS

With the present economic situation globally, many people are passing through inimical condition. It behooves on people to be very careful so as not to subject themselves to unnecessary stress that would affect their health.
Many people today, most especially women are more liable to unnecessary stress  in their daily activities.
Infact, a personal wellness plan with built-up periods of recovery and self-care can be of help to many people, most especially women need to manage street and empower themselves to make  healthy life.

By definition, stress is defined as the body's response to the daily activities that occur in our lives.
Everybody is experiencing stress wether knowingly or unknowingly, stress can be positive , and lures people  most especially women to achieve famous goals.
It can also be negative and destructive when it is too much. 
When stress becomes chronic / excessive, it becomes harder to adapt and cope with.
Sometimes, women are so busy that that they do not take time to rest enough in order  think about how stress is negatively affecting them nowadays.

HOW WOULD YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE STRESSING YOURSELF ?
The following are signs to know that you are under stress, they are;
a) Emotional signs: This includes anxiety, depression, anger, unhappiness, irritability, looking moody all the time, frustration etc.
b) Mental symptoms: There would be the following in the life of the person under stress, they are: worry, forgetfulness, inability to make viable decisions, negative thinking, lack of focus, tiredness etc.
c) Occupational symptoms : Another signs that would be felt by a person under stress are tense relations, poor concentration at work.
d) Social symptoms: This includes isolation, , family problems, loneliness, less intimacy etc.
e) Spiritual symptoms e.g loss of meaning, emptiness, unforgiving, doubt, loss of hope,guilt etc.
f) Physical symptoms: The person under stress will be passing through difficult sleeping, , headache, tiredness, back and neck pains, skin problem, abuse of drugs and alcohol, upset stomach etc.

     CAUSES OF STRESS
The following are factors causing stress in human beings, they are:
1) Financial problems: When one of the spouses is not financially balanced, it may cause stress to both of them.
2) Joblessness:Lack of job is a serious problem in the family, and it can lead to stress.
3) Another factor is health and relationship issues.
4) Investment in many roles (most especially women) perform in family obligations, caregiving for children and for elderly parents. Other work responsibilities and other roles played  by women.
Women may feel  a sense of failure in not being able to meet expectations for themselves and others.

WAYS BY WHICH STRESS AFFECT WOMEN
a) It causes anxiety, panicking and depression to women than men.
b) It causes heart- related problems such as high blood pressure, increased heart rate, headache and migraines to them.
c) Obesity:  Women are more prone to stress related weight gain than men, it can also lead to bowel problems.
d) Women with high levels of stress have a more difficult time becoming pregnant than women with lower stress levels.
e) It leads to a more severed premenstrual syndrome.

WAYS BY WHICH STRESS CAN BE MANAGED
a) Through physical exercise, by eating balanced diet, enough sleep at least 7-9 hours.
b) By expressing your emotion , by repeating positive emotions, do not give room for inferiority complex, allow self-esteem in your dealings, do not keep malice.
c) Focus on achievable goals, set limits etc.
d) Strive to maintain loving relationship, do not stay alone, and stay connected with good friends, always wear a cheerful face.
e) Focus on gratitude, move with people that will make you happy.
Above all, allow God to take control of your life, leave everything into the hand of God, meditate in His words, and be prayerful. Be a partaker in the work of God, and do not ignore congregational worship.
